I study the impact of freshwater from small and medium rivers on the physical, biological, and chemical oceanography of the Salish Sea using a high-resolution 3D numerical model called SalishSeaCast. An enhanced understanding how these rivers influence the region’s dynamics will not only lead to better real-time modelling capabilities, but also facilitate forecasting of climate-induced changes.
